When the railway engineering and control company ICF decided to move its offices to Alcobendas, we faced an exciting challenge: to convert an old building into a modern, functional workspace adapted to its identity. Our goal was to create an environment that not only reflected ICF's aesthetics, but also optimised every corner to improve the well-being and productivity of its teams.
To achieve this change, we carefully select materials that bring quality, warmth and a unique style to each area.
Entrance and Reception: First impressions are crucial. For the flooring, we installed Distiplas carpet, which provides a feeling of comfort and professionalism from the moment you step inside. The company logo, illuminated on a wall in a striking shade of green, creates a vibrant and energetic focal point that reinforces the corporate identity. We added vegetation in maroon-coloured pots to contrast with the colours.
Rest and Collaboration Areas: The kitchen and office space were designed as a place where the team could unwind and collaborate informally. The Arredo kitchen with a Prato finish adds a modern, minimalist touch. The Techlam worktop in Tropical Green adds a touch of colour and personality, complemented by the wooden slats on the floor with backing Liberty Rock 55 ‘Miami’ acoustic tiles from Distiplas, which not only add warmth but also improve the acoustics of the space.
Workspaces and Meeting Rooms: The workspaces and meeting rooms were furnished with Ismobel furniture. This choice ensures ergonomics and comfort for employees, with solutions tailored to promote both focused work and productive meetings.
Modern and Functional Bathrooms: We completely renovated the bathrooms using Apavisa's Equinox White Satin porcelain tiles on the walls. For lighting, we opted for Grunt spotlights by Her, which provide clean, modern light, enhancing the minimalist and polished aesthetic of the space.
La Terraza, An Urban Oasis: For the terrace, a key space for leisure, we installed Aparici's Brave Grey decking and Disgreen's Alaska artificial grass. The result is a versatile, low-maintenance outdoor area that offers visual respite and an ideal place for relaxation or outdoor events.
The end result is an ICF headquarters that combines elegance and functionality, a space where engineering meets design, transforming an old building into an innovative workplace adapted to the needs of the future.
